Birth chart without a birth time

You can calculate a partial birth chart without a known birth time. Astra uses 12:00 local noon for planetary positions and leaves out the Ascendant, Midheaven and houses. Noon is a calculation convention, not an estimate of when you were born. Time-sensitive positions and aspects remain uncertain.
What changes when the time is unknown?
Reproduce this example: 1990-11-02, 04:30 (Europe/Madrid), Barcelona, 41.38879°, 2.15899°. The public Sofia sample is demonstration data, not a customer record. Its calculated instant is . The tables round positions to two decimal places; calculations use unrounded values.
The comparison below changes only the known-time setting. Both columns use the same date, place and Placidus selection. The unknown-time column does not calculate houses despite that selection.

Why a noon Moon is provisional
The Moon changes position through the day. If it crosses a sign boundary on your birth date, the noon chart alone cannot settle your Moon sign. Other positions and aspect orbs can also change. Astra currently shows one noon snapshot; it does not calculate a full-day uncertainty range or recover a missing birth time.
Can I find my rising sign without the time?
Astra does not supply a rising sign when the time is unknown. A chart calculated from a guessed time would show an angle for that guess, not evidence of your actual Ascendant. Check a reliable birth record where available, and keep the unknown-time setting if the time cannot be established.
Use the partial chart honestly
Use the available placements as prompts for reflection, keep time-sensitive details provisional, and avoid house-based conclusions. If you later obtain the time, update the birth details and calculate again. Read how Astra handles time zones and calculations.
