Your data and where it goes
If you register with email and password, Astra stores your email, a salted password hash and a record of your agreement. Passwords are never stored as readable text. Sign-in uses a necessary, secure HTTP-only session cookie lasting up to seven days; a separate sign-in preference cookie prevents switching accounts unexpectedly. You can revoke the current session by signing out. Permanent account deletion removes credentials and sessions. Your account is created only after you confirm your email address through a one-time link sent by our email provider (Resend); the link is valid for 24 hours, and an unconfirmed sign-up is deleted about seven days after its link expires. If you forget your password, the sign-in page can email you a one-time reset link, valid for one hour; choosing a new password signs you out on every other device, and we email you a notice that the password changed.
When you save a chart, Astra stores your account identifier, name or nickname, email, birth details, selected location/time zone and calculated chart in Cloudflare D1 managed through Sites. The hosting location and backup locations have not been verified as exclusively Swiss. Authorised hosting providers and the operator may process data to run and support the service; “private profile” describes access between users, not a promise that providers cannot process it.
City search uses a bundled GeoNames directory. Searches are handled by Astra without calling an external location API. Manual coordinates and time zones are supplied by you and are not independently verified.
When AI is enabled for paid subscribers, an explicitly requested reading sends your question, up to two recent conversation messages and selected calculated chart placements to OpenAI. We do not deliberately attach your email or raw birthplace, but anything you include in your message will be sent. Do not enter health, financial, intimate or confidential information about yourself or others. Responses are generated by AI and may contain errors. We request that the API response not be stored as an application response object; this does not guarantee zero provider logs or zero retention.
When payments are enabled, Stripe processes payment and billing information. Astra stores subscription identifiers, payment status and paid-period dates, not card numbers. Astra accounts use email and password; Sites provides hosting. We use essential session storage and a language preference; a tab-session counter limits Premium suggestions and remembers dismissal. This counter stays in your browser. New product analytics events and advertising trackers are disabled. Providers may keep technical/security logs.
Control, retention and deletion
Use My profile to export your data, delete a birth profile or clear conversation history. Birth profiles remain until you delete them or delete your account. Saved conversation text is removed when you clear history or delete its profile. The service stores at most three birth profiles, 50 conversations and 60 messages per conversation per account. Minimal usage and spending counters are separate from conversation text; clearing history does not reset them. Counters expire after 100 days and are removed during later AI activity. Legacy analytics records, if any, remain exportable and are removed with account deletion.
Cancel any ongoing subscription before requesting deletion of all Astra account records; individual profiles and conversations can be deleted separately. This does not delete your ChatGPT account or records Stripe must retain. Provider backup deletion follows the provider’s retention process, not an immediate erasure promise. Contact the operator to request access, correction, restriction, portability or deletion as applicable. You may complain to the Swiss FDPIC or the competent authority in your country. A documented retention and international-transfer arrangement must be completed before paid signup opens.
Registration is separate from Premium. You can close your account at any time by permanently deleting it from My profile; there is no pause or recovery period, and deleted data cannot be restored. All subscriptions must have ended before deletion. You can export your data first. Billing records may need to be retained for their applicable purpose; provider backup schedules remain separate.
The general daily horoscope uses one shared AI generation from calculated planetary factors, with English and Spanish versions stored together. It does not use visitor profiles or conversations. It is dated in UTC, is not personalized, and may contain errors. This shared reading is available without a Premium subscription.
Service terms
Astra is for adults aged 18 or older. Only add another adult’s birth details with their permission and after showing them this notice. The free tier offers one personal birth chart, basic symbolic readings and today’s transits. Astrology is used for cultural and personal reflection, not scientifically established prediction, diagnosis or professional advice. Do not use it to decide medical treatment, investments, legal matters or another person’s eligibility for work, insurance, credit or housing.
The Premium plan costs CHF 12 per month plus applicable tax shown before purchase, with 30 AI requests per paid billing period, at most five per UTC day, additional profiles and extended transit views. Allowances do not roll over. There are no automatic top-ups, usage overage charges or free AI trials. A request that is interrupted or fails after dispatch may count toward the allowance because the provider may charge for it. Contact support for unresolved failures.
By registering you confirm that you are 18 or older and accept these terms, the privacy notice and the sources page; Premium checkout does not ask for this again. Premium renews automatically every month until you cancel. Before payment, checkout will display the subscription price, taxes and recurring billing terms. Cancel future renewals in Manage subscription. Service may be temporarily paused for safety, provider outages or a spending limit; no automatic extra charge is made. Mandatory cancellation, refund and consumer rights in your country remain unaffected. The operator must provide a support and remedy process before charging customers. Service availability depends on supported countries, payment and AI-provider restrictions and applicable law.
Sources, methods and licences
Sun–Pluto positions are computed using Astronomy Engine 2.1.19. Astra calculates Placidus, equal or whole-sign houses, major aspects and a mean North Node. It uses the tropical zodiac and geocentric positions. Chiron is not included. Unknown birth time uses local noon and omits the Ascendant and houses. Daily transits are noon UTC snapshots. City-centre coordinates and historical time-zone rules can introduce uncertainty.
Descriptions and guides were generated during development from common astrological themes. They have not been reviewed by a professional astrologer and do not establish personality or relationship outcomes. Sample charts use fictional profiles. The celestial illustration is AI-generated. No external horoscope text database is used.
